Multiple Sclerosis, often called MS, is a disease the effects the central nervous system, the brain and the spinal cord, the epicenter of the human body. MS can cause problems with muscle control and strength, vision, balance, feeling, and thinking. MS can look different for each person, leaving some seriously disabled to leaving some with minor symptoms that does not interrupt their daily lives. MS affects an estimated 2.5 million people worldwide, with more than 400,000 people in the United States, and an estimate 200 new cases diagnosed each week in the US. Though these states are alarming and widespread, there are not many people who really know what MS is and the impact it can have to someone they may be sitting right next to. This event shed light to what the disease is, how it can look, how it is diagnosed and treated, and also allow for the conversation to begin to move toward eradicating it, all through the creative communicative lens of art.
